    1971 GS455 Generator & AC

Just wondering if anyone knows if the following generator and AC compressor are right for my 1971 GS455. This car was made for Canada.

    Generator

    1102448
    55A
    2A 6 12VNEV

    AC Compressor
    Frigidaire
    Code No. C11222
    Model - 5910789

    Thanks

    Smile hi

It is an alternator...not a generator. I'm wondering why you may think they are not. The alternators in those years are physically the same size---they just have different amp ratings--a car with power windows and air conditioning will have a higher amp alternator and if you are going to add a pounding stereo, then you may want to get an even higher amp alternator like 80 or 90 amp. As with the air compressor, if its there then its 99% probably supposed to be there. It will have a bit larger of a pulley if it has a rear end gear differential of 3.42:1 or lower(which means the numbers go up like 3.91:1).
    Hope that helps ya
