My 67 Skylark Cowl Tag looks like this:

    ---------------------------------------------
    06E 367 BODY
    ST 67 44469 BAL 14 12 PAINT
    TR 188 PA
    432754

    ---------------------------------------------

I understand all the codes except the 14 12 and
the 432754. Is the 14 12 upper body and lower body paint codes? All the 67 Skylark paint codes I have found are letters so I am confused. Any thoughts on the 14 12 codes?

    Thank you...

my book shows the paint codes in line across from the trim codes ... which would make 'PA' your paint codes or Platinum Mist and Regal Black.

i don't have anything else, sorry.

Bob, Thanks for info. The car is the colors you identified--Lower Body color is Platinum Mist with a Black painted top. I should have figured this out myself and feel pretty "dumb" that I didn't. I was stuck on the 14 12 and still wonder what these codes are. By the way, my Skylark has 6,352 original miles on it in near show room condition including the original tires, AC44S spark plugs, plug wires, spiral shocks, etc. The reason I wanted to be sure about the paint codes is I need to do a little air brush touch up on the Platinum Mist. Thanks Again!

holey cow batman! sheesh, that thing must have been stored in a museum or something, almost 40 yrs old and less than 10k miles, wow.

how long has it sat without running with antifreeze in it? i would highly recommend yanking the water pump and inspecting that as the aluminum has a nasty habit of suffering electolysis.

i'd also be sure to prime the oil before lighting the engine off.

    congratulations on that find.

Actually, it was in a heated garage, covered. The original owner kept it maintained, started it regularily, and drove it a few miles every year. He was a fanatic(he neighbors called him eccentric) about his cars. In addition to the Skylark he also has a mint condition 69 Ford F100 with 6,100 original miles.

Anyway, when he passed away I bought the Skylark from his estate and drove it the 52 miles from his garage to my home. I thought about taking the car carrier but figured driving it 52 miles would not hurt it. It ran great.

I have the original 1967 PA title, owners manual, Protecto Plate and notes from the owner. Zeimer Buick in New Holland, PA sold the car new and is still in business.
