What is the orgin/meaning/significance of the "225" (deuce and a quarter) as it regards to the name Electra 225?
The 225 refers to overall length of the car in inches. Some years it was a little more than 225, other years a bit less.
In the first 3 seasons (1959, 60, 61) there were Electra models and Electra 225 models. The 225's had a body which was longer than the regualr Electra series. Not all body styles were available in both series.
If I remember correctly the word "Electra" means brilliant in greek.
