1967 is tricky year. The Buick VIN number and the Fisher body tag decode differently, which is causing the confusion over V8 vs V6. Buick changed the VIN scheme in 1967 so the the last six digits of the VIN code for six or eight cylinders, but Fisher continued to use the old 1965-1966 style number scheme. If the last 6 digits of the VIN is 6xxxxx then the car came with a six cylinder engine (V6 in 1967, I6 for 1968-1971) otherwise it came with a V8. So your car came with a V8.
