I have a 455 block that has a numerical stamp on it. I'm trying to find out the year of manufacture. The number reads 42H44??032. Anyone out there able to decode this number for me?

4 = Buick Motor Division
2 = 1972 model year
H = Flint Assembly
44??032 - Sequential production number. You have one too many digits there, should only be 6 digits (numbers) after the "H". Probably from an Electra as that matches (the first "4") their VIN sequencing.
thanks Brad! the extra number (question marks) comes from a bad photo. I was just trying to date the block under my stage one heads and original B4B intake. very helpful brother!
