    1950 VIN Tag

    Wondering if anyone knows where or who makes reproduction vin tags for a 1950 bruick special?

    that's probably going to be hard to find.

    a repro VIN tag would be the very first step in faking a rebuild ( Skylark to GS for example ).

    A repro VIN tag would probably be illegal. I think you can do firewall tags without any hassle from the law, but collectors don't like the idea.

    No it's not illegal as long as anyone can produce correct title that matches the secret number on the frame

    so next question where would one get a repro firewall info tag

    Doesn't seem like a valid frame number. An eight digit frame number can't have a zero as the second digit, same with an eight digit engine number. Better check again.

    45088892
    4 = Kansas City, KS
    5088892 = sequential number, range was 5,043,001 to 5,335,606 for KC in 1949

    Also, I should clarify this, you can't have an eight digit frame number or engine number that starts with a 4 and has a 0 as the second digit.
