1951 Deluxe Riviera 2d HT VIN decode

    Hi,

I just bought "brand new" Buick from Canada and coding gives me some headache. Maybe someone could help me.

    1951 MOD. 51-76R
    Style N 51-4737X
    Body N BA 877
    Trim N 70
    Paint N 24
    TOP ACC

VIN number from left door 6b3739I3
    Motor number 66654987

That VIN number really contains b and I, I have double checked that several times! I would like to restorate this car so all information is welcomed. Thanks in advance

Dam, I was hoping I have also original engine but you are right about the carburetor. It has 4-bbl. So engine has been replaced. Anyway, thanks a lot for all information you gave me. It helped me a lot, you guys really know your Buicks...

It's not clear to me what you are asking, are you talking about specific models? There were three Roadmaster Riviera's in 1951: model 72R, 76R and 76MR. Model 76MR did not come with power windows or power seats while model 76R came with power windows and seat and had a fancier interior. Model 72R had a longer wheelbase. I don't think any of the Roadmaster Riviera models were called Deluxe in 1951.
