    Quadrajet Identification?????

    Hey guys,
It looks like the carb on my car was rebuilt & might be from a later year. Can you guys shed some light on this one for me & help me figure out where this thing came from. The #'s stamped on it are 07028280 it also has the #'s 3262 stamped below that. I also am posting a pic below.
-What year carb is this? I think it might be a "68
    -What is the CFM?
-Is it even a Buick Carb? The last 2 digits "80" are throwing me off.
-Will I be better off getting an original "67 GS carb or an Buick 800 CFM carb
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks,

that appears to be a 68 marine carburetor for a 283 engine. Toss it and get you a good Buick carb.

Wait!!! Did you say "marine" carb as in it belongs in a boat? What the heck!!!!! Why would someone do that? Would the 1973 800cfm carb that I was looking into be a good carb?
    Thanks,
    Josh

Well now that I've figured out that my carburetor is a marine/boat carb I'm on a quest for a new carburetor & since I'm going to spend the money on a new carb I might as well go for the best. Anybody know of someone selling a Rochester Stage 1 carburetor? I'm sure it's a long shot but why not go big?
