    Body Style Decoding my 67 Buick

    Please can someone help with figuring out what body style I have! I want to start redoing the interior and the Body by Fisher book has so many choices. I know it is a 67 Buick Special Deluxe and has the V8 300 in it.

    Here are the numbers on the tag if any can help.

    12D
    67-43669 BF00766 BODY
    141 DD PAINT
    B80 B90
    8901 020139

    All numbers are as close to where they are on the tag.

    Okay I have figured out.
    67=1967
    4=Buick
    36=Special Deluxe V-8
    69=Sedan, 4-Door, Pillar Post
    Don't know what the BF00766 is?
    141=Blue Cloth/Vinyl
    DD=Sapphire Blue Paint
    Don't know what the B80 or the B90 are?

    Anyone able help with these couple of items? Also when looking it up in the Body by Fisher would this be an "A" Body Type?

    Short answer is yes, here is a chart:

    12D = body build date = December 1966, fourth week
    BF = Fremont, CA Fisher body plant
    766 = body plant sequence number

    B80 and B90 are options codes, I think they are for exterior trim mouldings

    8901 020139 is a batch code. Batch codes were used by some body plants, like Fremont, to group option codes. There isn't anyway to decode the batch numbers.

    The VIN for your car should be of the format 435697Z1XXXXX, where:

    43569 = Special Deluxe, 4-door thin pillar sedan
    7 = 1967
    Z = Fremont, CA
    1XXXXX = sequence number unique to car (starting at 100,001 for cars with V8 engines at each plant)
