Try top of frame rail behind the rear wheel...on the driver's side (LHD)
I had the body off the frame to see mine, there is another place near the driver's door, again on the top rail. That one the body has to be off the frame.
    Cheers,

Are you looking for a VIN#? Thats what you'll find in the locations Ted mentioned. I never tried to see these with the body on. Not going to say its impossible but would be extremely difficult due to potential rust and grime that build up on top of the frame. Some of these numbers are hard to read even with the body off.

I attached a pic of the rear top of frame VIN stamp on a 66 Riv for reference. Not sure how this would relate to the Wildcat but from what Ted stated its probably very similar. (Sorry for some reason the pic won't upload)

The only other numbers are the frame part number designation and possibly a date code. On my 66 Riv I found these at the rear most side of framerail just before the bumper bracket either on the left side or right side. Can't be 100% sure off the top of my head.

I believe that is the only numbers you'll find on the frame.

That will be cool down there!
You will need wire brushes, lotsa light and maybe some mirrors
but you probably figured that already!
I wish you luck and patience.

Just a question aussie67, do they not want the VIN number that is riveted on the door pillar? Surely that is the one that can be seen more easily. It is odd that you would have to do a complete strip down and body removal just to get it registered. It would be a disappointment if the the number found on the chassis was the same as on the door pillar.
