I haven't heard of a drag pak for a Buick however there was one for Ford and if someone ordered your car with the optional lower gear set and the 4 speed they may have called it a drag pak.
i was wondering if anybody has heard of an option called a drag pak for a 62 wildcat.when i got the car the seller told me my car had the factory drag pak....7000rpm tach.stronger trans and low gears but i cant find any other information.anywhere.its the only 401 ive ever owned but it sure goes better than any of my other cars.[440 challenger. 428 t bird .472 cadi.327 impala]

thanks for your reply jim.i would think the guy i purchased of was just making it up except my wildcat does have a 7000 rpm tach ....every other wildcat ive seen only has a 6000 rpm.imean who cares what your tach goes to but it makes me think theres something to the story....
i didn't think you could or even would ever want to turn a Nailhead 6000 much less 7000rpm? insufficient valving and the tight exhaust radius play hell with high rpm breathing, correct?

'63 was the one & only year for the 7K tach. Rare & desireable. As far a drag pack, someone's pulling your leg & filling your head with BS. The only thing that could be considered a "Drag Pack" option would be 3.90 or 4.45 posi rear end gears.
