normally, the last 7 digits of the VIN matches the last 7 of the EIN. it's possible that your engine got swapped on the assembly line for some reason but you would think that if it happened in the factory that the EIN and VIN would be a little bit closer.

the dual 4 barrel setup is EXTREMELY desireable and always has been. it's very possible that someone saw an opportunity to snatch one of these motors out of another car and swapped this prior to 1970. be aware of this if you ever decide to sell the car. just the intake and carb setup on this is worth quite a bit, even if it isn't 'numbers matching'.
