I recently bought a '65 Special convertible. I've searched and found info that explains most of the codes on the cowl tag , but I'm clueless on these :
Trim code = 021
Paint code = D1 *
Accessory code = 2X-50
From what I've dug up so far I think the D in the paint code is Astro Blue Poly, not sure about the 1 next to it. The star is in the second position of the paint code. According to info I found on Yearone the second position of the paint code can indicate upper body color, folding top or roof cover.
The interior is blue vinyl with a split bench front seat and looks to be original. The car has the remains of a rubber floor mat, similar to a trunk mat. It does not appear that the car ever had carpet. The remains of the top are white. I'm guessing it is a manual top, I haven't found any up/down switch and can't see any motor, pump, hydraulic arms, etc... in the top well.
Any help is appreciated!
