V6 225 Help

I have an Olds Cutlass F85 with a 225 V6, both heads are cracked. If the cylinder head casting number is B1358676R, would that be the only head that will fit my block or are other heads with different casting numbers interchangeable? I saw this reference chart under the reference tab and need help to understand what it is saying:

Yes, regardless of casting number all those heads should bolt on. There may or may not be differences between the heads. Common differences can include combustion chamber size, port volume, more or less mounting holes, among others. for that reason it is good practice to run a matched set of numbers. However, if you know the differences it can b possible to run an unmatched set.

Have no idea, the car is new to me. Sent the engine out for a rebuild and this is what they found. Visually looking at the engine condition I would assume it was years of over heating - water pump issues. There was bandaid style repair to it and a lot of water damage to the engine front. It hasn't been driven for a number of years and the driver owner unknown.

I don't know the story, but I think the answer is "maybe, sometimes". I don't have a good reference for this information. Maybe someone else can help.

I have heard of cracked blocks from too much oil in the block's bolt holes prior to installation. A straight edge on the block will show if the block needs to be decked. Otherwise new set of heads could crack with a warped mating surface. The front of the block can be resurfaced too. they remove the dowels that align the front cover for access.

There is a possibility they might not do it. Seems that more and more people dont know how to do anything. This is where AI comes in and saves the day.
