Smoke at idle only...

I have a '49 248... 81,000 miles on it. It runs strong smooth and quiet,,,
but once warm, if I let it idle for a minute, it will puff out a cloud of oil burning smoke... once the RPMs are up, or at cruising speed, or climbing a hill, it no longer burns oil.

I'm guessing it is due to worn valve guides...
My question here is: Is there any type of "umbrella" valve seal that can be used?

I appreciate input from anyone who has had the same issue.

Thanks in advance.

Oil type and weight?
Any blow-by?
Valve guide test: coast from 60 mph down to 40 mph and nail it...puff of smoke indicates valve guides sucking oil.

Thanks... I'll try the 60/40 cost test.
Oil weight is 10w40. I also use a ZDDP additive.
Road-Draft Tube has some blow-by, not substantial like my Chevy 235 had.
