Need help with pedal start!

Not a mechanic and new to the old Buicks. Took head off to have broken manifold bolt repaired. Removed carb and carb linkage. Put everything back together and starter wont engage when pedal is pushed. Cant find any wires or switches involved with linkage. Has to be something simple Im missing. Any ideas?

Got the 52 Super a couple of months ago, was cranking and running. Drove around block a couple of times. Had exhaust manifold leak, Bolt broken off in head. Unhooked throttle linkage, removed carb, manifolds and head. Put back together and now starter wont engage when I push the pedal. Need help bad! Anyone please!

Have you found the switch on the carburetor? Have you tested it?
