I can't open the door

I recently got 2, 70 model skylarks. both passenger side door latches are stuck. how do I get the doors open without messing them up? any ideas?

Stuck how??? Pushing the handle buttons in act like the inside door lock button is down???

the latches are very rusty .I've sprayed a lot they aren't locked ,no click when fully release position .I think spring in latch rusty too week to release. the windows were out on both cars,they were in it instead of on it, one car anyway. the other only 1+windsheild. the cars are pretty rusty but all panels are really straight, that's the best about them.

well, you could rip the interior panel off of the closed door. this would give you access to the all of the latch mechanisms, the better to lubricate and actuate them directly.

don't know if that meets your "not messing them up" criteria though.

can,t open door

thanks for the suggestions. I did take off the panel and was able to use the hole thru the latch with a star or torques socket to unscrew the striker an was able to gently pry the door open with very little damage. thanks again Mike
