300 V8 Header Flanges?

I'm looking for header flanges for the 1964 300 V8. The only source I found has them for around $300.
That's too much for our project.
I can't use complete headers, because the engine is in an Chevrolet Corvair Truck and the headers needs special routing.
Since this is unique or very special we will keep it.

Not sure where you are located but try to find someone that does plasma cutting. They would be able to use an exhaust manifold gasket as a pattern and cut them out for a lot less than that I would think.

as you should have picked up from the other thread, Land Rover v8 engines from the mid 1960s to 2004 are a metric variant of the Buick 215ci.

thus, you can use Rover exhaust flanges. if can find an old set of Rover headers, you could saw the header tubes off and use the flanges as a starting point. and there are Rover header sets. the Rover v8 was used in sporty cars like the TVR and there are entire racing classes devoted to such cars in England.

the 300 may have larger exhaust ports so you might want to do some grinding on the flange to make sure there's no reversion step in the port but you should be good to go other than that.

i apologize.

somewhere out there on the interwebs is an article comparing the Buick 215 / Olds 215 / 300 / Rover heads with pictures laying them all out side by side.

i've forgotten where it is and now i can't find it.

herp derp.

so anyways, here's an intake comparison for you:

the P76 is an Australian market only variant of the Rover block which is metric but JUST slightly shorter than a Buick 340. it's the only production Rover variant which didn't share the original 215ci deck height. there are some specialty race castings of the Rover design which go to 6 liter, i have no idea what they were doing with deck height.

ACR produces the Wildcat race head, i would think they should have header flanges.
