    Accelerator anti-rattle spring

    Hello,
My accelerator anti-rattle spring fell off when I rebuilt the master cylinder and I can't find a place to hook it back up again. It's a '53 Special. Any pics or ideas of where it goes would help...it's not in the shop manual. Thanks!

    Anti-rattle spring

If its the one I'm thinking about, which is actually the throttle return spring, the large hook end fits over something on the intake or exhaust manifold behind and below the carb. . not special hole, just a narrow form.

Hey Bernard--No, the return spring is till on there...I was trying to figure out which spring fell off when I found this "accelerator anti-rattle spring" online...who knows...maybe the PO was running two return springs...

Is it the exhaust heat valve anti rattle spring?

I think I do see it actually--it's the one below the dashpot on the throttle assembly. It looks like a spring in the picture...

Is that thing right under the dashpot a spring or a rod? If it's a spring then that's it, if it's a rod, then I think somebody just added a second throttle return spring. Thanks for all your help!
