    Clutch release bearing

This question is in regards to a 46 roadmaster 70 series with the 320. I ordered a new clutch release bearing, but the old bearing appears to be one assembly with the sleeve. Does anyone know if on bearing #1319083 you can have a shop press on the new bearing, or do you have to replace the entire assembly? Thanks!

15 years ago when I built my car, I just walked into a local parts store and purchased a BCA1505 Throwout Bearing. I think it's a generic part that GM used all the way through the 70's.

Yes, that is the bearing I have. I found that it is pressed onto the collar the fork attaches to. Thanks

With the trip to a machine shop, I found that the bearing with collar that was in my Roadmaster cannot have just a new bearing pressed on. It came from the factory as an assembly and took part BCA 1507C.
found this assembly at Jackson's Old Automotive Parts Co in Duluth, MN. WWW.oldtimeparts.com. Fellow named Rod. I also found parts for my 48 Lincoln too.

Yes, I have a 48 Zephyr Convertible that had been "totally" restored before I bought it. When I received it, had a hard starting problem which I determined to be from fuel draining back into the gas tank after the car sat for a week or so.. I learned that a NOS fuel pump just means you get a 60+year-old pump with deteriorated gaskets. The fuel pump part #571 is the same as for the 48 V8 Fords. These are still being built new, and I found one at the above mentioned Oldtimeparts.com. Thus far, that is all I have needed. I search Ebay for parts. I would also search forums.
