Will a 263 fit in a 1947 series 50 Super? Car has a 248 as near as I can tell. Thanks
I would say get the motor mount support for the 263.
Yes it will works, important is that the 263 came also with the same kind of tranny equipped like your 248.
They have differend Cranks, boltcircle and center hole are complete differend.

It should fit nicely. The biggest thing is having the wider radiator. The water pump is off set to the drivers side about 1" from the centerline of the crank. My 48 engine had a different water pump. The 38 (mine that I drive) has the smaller diameter, centering position pump. The 48 had a larger WP and I thing I remember that it was off set a bit. The 263 engine has a larger diameter still and a larger WP pulley. I would use the 48 pulley on the 263 to keep the water moving faster. The 263 has a bit more get up and go than the 248. I swapped my 248 in my 1938 coupe for a 263. I needed more HP to run my A/C and 12 volt power source. More info by e-mail me at oldbuickjim@gmail.com
