1950 Buick Oil Pump Pickup Screen

Hey guys. I was wondering if anybody knows were I can get an oil pump pickup screen for my 1950 Buick. I've been pulling the motor apart to clean it and get it running after 35 years of sitting. After dropping the oil pan I found that the oil pump pickup screen was so clogged that it literally sucked itself in & became crushed. Does anybody have one or know where to get one. Can I just try & pull this one back out & use it. Any help would be great. Thanks.

That's the worst looking oil screen I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I don't know where to find a replacement, other than from another engine. I think your best bet would be to clean it and try to straighten it out. Does your crank show any sign of damage from oil starvation?

Now you've seen one that is worse. The oil came out like Jello.

Ha ha. That's pretty dirty. That's how mine looked as well. All covered in thick *** mud. Yours doesn't look like it got crushed though. Here's some pics of the inside. Here's a picture of the inside after I took it apart. I sprayed a ton of kerosene into it before I even opened it up. I ended up finding a crack in the joint so I'm going to need a new one. Luckily I've tracked a couple down. Enjoy the pics.
