    Front Wheel Bearing I assume?

The front wheel on my 50 buick super can be moved easily back and forth when up in the air. I'm assuming its the wheel bearings need to be replaced. Anyone who has replaced these please chime in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGpWu...ature=youtu.be
    thanks,

There are two bearings per wheel, just like modern cars, but they are ball instead of roller. Try adjusting the bearings first. It's kind of like adjusting the bearings on a bicycle. That may be all you need. If the wheel makes noise after you adjust it, then you will need to replace one or both bearings on that side. You should clean and lube the bearings too (both wheels), if they haven't had any attention for a while.

I just now looked at your video. Do you have the grease cap for that side? If not, you will definitely need to get one.

When checking for loose wheel bearings always wiggle the wheel by one hand on top of wheel and one on the bottom. If you place your hands on the sides and wiggle back and forth loose steering linkage can give you false "readings" for loose wheel bearings but I am sure everyone knew that already! Have fun.
