    1952 special

Hi to all , ive just bought my first 1952 buick special and got it home to find the starter is bad. Im not having any luck in finding anyplace that sells them? Not sure if the old one is even rebuildable. If anyone has a place that sales them i would be glad to hear from you. Thanks randy

These are 12 volt, and you'll want a 6 volt. Take your starter into a farm equipment store that does tractor repair, betcha they can fix her like new for a lot less.

Also are you sure it is the starter and not the electrical switches.? Have you tried jumping the battery to the starter? Key on? The starter is on the gas pedal with the switch for starting on the carb. I'd think you might want to get a shop manual from bobsautomilia.com before you start tearing things apart.
