Valve Cover for a straight 8

Anyone know of any type of dress up kits for a Straight 8? Valve cover, oil breather and engine parts?

You gotta make your own. You can send your parts to a chrome shop or have some one fabricate a valve cover out of sheet aluminum or carve parts out of billet. Their are no "kits" available. Get creative, your only limitations are your imagination and your wallet.

Someone on the 1937and1938Buicks Yahoo group was planning to make and sell finned valve covers a few monthes ago, with cast alu IIRC , but not sure he really did it .

I took my parts to a sandblaster which was $150 for everything. Then I took it to a pro chromer in South Philadelphia. I had the fan Chromed, The oil filter cover, valve cover, Oil filter brackets, plugs cover for $400. they ship too (http://www.frankfordplatinginc.net/)

The filler neck chrome was $13.95 (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G3802/)

Chrome alternator from Speedway ( http://www.speedwaymotors.com/search-910-67150.html) Get the pigtail wiring harness too ($18 - pn 910-64100) saves about 3 hours of labor.

Chrome Power steering pump (if you have PS) Speedway-(pn 910-32908-CHR)

    Coil bracket chrome Cars inc ($9.50 CB350C) Chrome coil ($29.95 IC539C) (www.oldbuickparts.com)

SUMMIT- Louvered Air filter Chrome (CAL-187147) $9.95 each (shown in pics below)

SUMMIT- Chrome Oil breather cap (SUM-G3401) $1.95

Engine looks great! I would caution you to look up a term called "Hydrogen Embrittlement". It is something that happens to metal when it is chrome plated. Cooling fans that have been chromed have a tendency to eventually come apart. The chances that your fan will fail are small but every so often I would have it magnafluxed around the bolt holes. Needless to say, fans never come apart at an opportune time and rarely without causing damage to something else. Just a cautionary note.
