Thread: Unknown Hole

    Question Unknown Hole

There is a threaded hole, in the block, to the rear of my distributor on my 41 Buick Raodmaster, 320 cube engine. It looks like a fluid has come out of there in the past, but I see no leak when the engine is running. What is that threaded hole, and can I plug it off or not ?

In my spare distributor there is a short 1/4-20 round head stovebolt about 1/4" long. I removed it and it was full of grease inside. On the other side there ia a 1/8" pipe thread with a 45 degree grease fitting in it.
