Thread: Anything new from the straight 8 hot rodders?

  1. Thanks - great info!

The oiler bar is a good idea for spring life, especially the exhausts. I assume you are running some kind of positive valve seals?

    Rocker arm mods

    Hey guys,

Send me your e-mail address to me grhamann(@) yahoo.com. It is easier to send them to you this way. I already sent some to one of you.

How much do your roller rocker arms weigh?

I used light weight chromemoly pushrods custom made to the correct lenght in order to maintain valve geometry.

    Straight 8

I posted the straight 8 cut apart head pictures on www.landracing.com because the files were too big to post here. They are still there on the EFI tech section of that forum. [It was late last year, or early this year that I posted the cut away shots].

    Back to the Salt

Well, we broke our 325 inch motor at Speed Week trying to backup a 193 MPH record run, so we put our "Big" 367 Inch motor back together and we are going back to the Salt on the 14 th for World Of Speed to see if we really can get a straight 8 over 200 MPH. in a full sized car. Here's a video of the first warmup where it season's the exhaust wrap and creates lots of smoke [on the outside]. We will try to keep the other smoke on the inside this time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-8JwyoFh6E Enjoy,
