49 320 at the machine shop

    HEY EVERYONE
The 49 320 is at the macine shop- it has 50, 481 actuall miles- and heres the clincher....
THE MACHINIST FOUND NO DISCERNABLE WEAR ON THE CYL BORES
he had to measure it with a micometer to find any, and then 2 passes with the hone REMOVED THEM!!! i'm shocked and amazed

but I shouldnt be- it a BUICK
    nailheads forever

Yeah, when I first got my '50 the #8 piston was in a gazillion pieces in the oil pan. They had to sleeve that cylinder but just had to polish the crank! It stayed standard until just recently a connect rod nut came loose and opened the crank end at 70 MPH. Well, they had to grind the crank ONLY .010 under sized. I'm still amazed! But like you say "It's a Buick"...
