In California where I have lived all of my life (4th generation) the population explosion (38 million people) brought about by mass immigration has caused water shortages, lack of clean air, over crowded schools, hospitals and prisons. You can't stuff 10 pounds of crap into a 5 pound bag!

Its all relative, i,m not complaining about gas prices we pay here, as many people in other countries pay much more. As a gauge of relative income I was working on Santa Fe RR in 1960 getting $3hr and gas was about 30 cents a gallon. I joined the Navy in 62' and got $89 a month, had a 55 Ford mainline, w 272 Y block and Fordomatic,[13mpg] didnt think too much about gas prices back then, but 10 yrs later I sure was concerned about availability.

Gas Prices

In Central California 87 Octane is around $3.15/gal. Premium which is 91 Octane and pretty much useless in $3.35/gal.

gas prices

I agree with all the responces to the gas poll here in Bradenton fl gas jumps up and down over nite right now we are at $ 3.01 to $ 3.15 per gallon. I would not be surprised that by July we should be at $ 3.75 per gallon or better. Are we ready to park our cars and go by smart cars and cooper cars, park your trailers and etc. What we need is a gas price strike
the house and senate and gov. won't do a thing about prices they are all in big oil pockets. How is this if we could network evey state in the union
pick one gas station everyone in the country go to that station in their state empty the tanks all the rest sit idle once that statin is empty pick another empty it and so on you know big oil would sit up and notice also
washington. Back in the 60/70,s people made change now it's time for the young and the old folks to make a difference. The way I see it we the people keep getting the you know what on the end of the stick. This is a government for the people by the people not just the RICH and FAMOUS.

This is just my opinion any other opinions are wellcome. Everyone Happy Holidays to you and yours!!!!

Cheapest price I can find in Council Bluffs IA is $2.75 for super unleaded (10% ethanol). I think regular is $2.85 a gallon.....................It's $2.85 in Omaha Ne for super unleaded and $2.87 for regular.

Out here in San Francisco it is near $ 4.00 per gallon.

Just a side note fact:

The last 2007/08 price jack that we all remember was due to then newly deregulated and established form of price point day trading by speculators on certain fuel based commodities which had been for years previously illegal to do and for good reason. Fuels and heating oils now can be speculated.

They are at it again and the speculation and privatization costs will be borne on our backs. Every time you privatize or deregulated a precious needed commodity or universal service which has been establish as collective benefit to all, you can bank on the fact (And they do) it will in the end - Always cost more and it will Always give you less. The difference is their profit or said another way, your cost increase!

To privatize and deregulate means not that you get something better or cheaper that never happens, it means they get their hands on something that allows them more of your fair share. So as George Orwell would say in double speak: More is less!

3.39 gal for 87 octane in Jefferson City, MO and that's with the governor's mandated 10% ethanol. we can't get gas that is ethanol free here any more.
