drove beautiful for a year has 28000 mi. broke down last week-turns out it needed new dist. coil -two days later
breaks down again on freeway at 70 mi. per mechanic suggest new battery bought one -alternator good celunoid good -don't trust car at this point -anything else i can replace to insure dependability --help thanx---

My first suggestion would be to find a new mechanic. Having the Voltage regulator checked wouldn't be a bad idea. Without seeing the car, there isn't much else I can tell you. Someone else on the board may be able to give you a better idea though, of what's going on.
