    Unhappy

    My 1997 3.8L stopped running and locked up. Pulled spark plugs and engine coolant poured out of saprk plug holes. Replaced upper intake manifold gasket. Engine ran only a few minutes and loaded again with coolant. What gives? What am I missing or did wrong? Please Help!!!

    Yank,
    The upper intake is "rotted" through around the egr passage. There is an updated intake manifold, and depending on your mileage, GM might fix it for free. Check with your Buick dealer for the appropriate bulletins and other information. If you do a web search, you will probably find some info also.
    Hope this helps,

    BillK;
    Thanks for the reply. I had heard that I probably needed to replace the upper intake housing but before I made the purchase I wanted a second opinion.
