Thread: stuck distributor

    Cool

I want to pre-oil my 401 engine thats been sitting a few years before I try and turn it over. I can't get the distributor out . took off the clamp, it should pull straight out but it won't budge. Anyone got some ideas?

Why don't you try and have one guy or gal slowly turn the crank by using the proper tourq wrench and socket and you try shifting and lifting the distributor out of the engine, see if that helps, but make sure you soak it with penitrating oil if theres any rust.IT'S worth a try.
