1953 Skylark Estatr Wagon Fuel Filler tube

The fuel filler tube on this 53 estate wagon has no bracket to hold it steady. The only thing supporting it is the rubber and two clamps where it slides into the tank Is this correct or did they have a bracket from the factory? Tom B.

I have a '52 Estate wagon and the filler tube is one piece from the tank to top of neck. No brackets for support.

Thank for the reply. I did figure out that the tube was soldered to the tank inlet from the factory.
