Question Exchange the oil pump without pulling out the engine?

My oil pressure isn't what it should be
    So my question is:
is it possible to exchange the oil pump with the engine left in the car?

the 66 Chassis Manual will cover the 425 and a near model Electra.

chassis manual says it can be done with the engine in the car, it recommends jacking the engine by putting a stand under the crankshaft pulley. i'm sure a chain to an engine hoist would also work.

    it's section 62-1 on page 60-120.

It's very doable. Done it MANY times. Oil pumps don't normally go bad on "Nails". With that being said, how many miles??? More than likely bearing clearances are more than what they should be. Cam bearings come into mind 1st.

Ok, thanks for the answer, that was good news. Little easier if you can replace it with the engine in the car
Now i just have to spoke with my local dealer to see if he has one on stock
