What size socket do I need to remove the spark plugs?

I have a '56 Special with the stock 322 Nailhead and the standard size 13/16 socket won't fit on the plugs. What size do I need?

Also, does anyone here play Words With Friends? Check out the attached photo to see what word was good for 149 points-the most I've ever gotten on one word....

    13/16 Spark Plug

The OEM plug is an AC 44 which is definitely 13/16. If your using an old plug socket, the rubber sleeve designed to hold the plug may have hardened preventing you from sliding it on easily.

If the plugs are rusty and therefore not fitting the regular socket, you can try a 21mm deep well.

    Regards,

    Tim
