    msd distributor in 322 nailhead

Does anyone have experience with a complete MSD distributor in a ('56 or other) 322ci nailhead engine? I'm planning to replace the complete stock ignition with the MSD unit. Experiences with other suppliers are welcome too...

    Thanks,
    Cees

For the most part "Nail" distributors are pretty bullet proof. A good upgrade will be a '57-'66 "Window" distributor. Parts are readily available just about anywhere. A good electronic conversion kit is the one wire unit I sell. All my distributors are in storage at the moment. If you find one I will rebuild/re-curve it & install the ignition. On your end it will be a bolt-in.

Thanks Tom, but sending my distributor up & down to the US will cost me more than a complete unit as I live in Belgium.

I converted the distributor on my 1956 Buick to Pertronix ignition and it works great.
