Collapsed Lifter in 53 322 Nailhead?

Another lifter question - 53 super nailhead
I've got a 53 super that has not been run regularly for a long time before I got it. I pulled the driver side valve cover gasket, and I'm guessin I have 2 collapsed lifters, as 2 of the push rods are about a half inch from meeting the rocker arm. Since the car has sat for about a year without starting, I was told the oil may have leakde out of the lifters. Suggested to try and turn the engine over with the coil wire pulled to see if the lifter expands with oil in it. Any ideas, or is lifter replacement the best option? The other 14 push rods are all in the rocker arm sockets.
One thing I found as odd was that all the valves look to be in the closed position - since the none of the rockers are being pushed up by the push rod. Didnot know if that is also a sign that the oil has leaked out of the lifters. Have not tried to turn the engine over yet.

    Appreciate any advice

    lifter problem

Make sure a valve is not stuck down, that is more often the problem that a stuck lifter.. If any lifters are stuck they are easy to remove, take apart and clean.. Also make sure the cam is not shot too. The 53-55 264 and 322 have steel cams and was a common problem with wearing out,if the lifter bottom is badly worn so is the cam, I have seen them worn so bad the oil was coming out the lifter bottom!! .. One on the biggest mistakes (read tech info in my site) is people being sold the 56 and later lifter for the 53-55, they look almost the same but the cup is deeper and uses a longer push rod than the later lifter.. Buick did this because they did not want you mixing lifters which were made for different cam material. Russ
