According to this, it came from a '54 Special I,1, and space stamps can be confusing.
i know the block is a 322 (4 inch bore) but what year is it? i was lead to belive it was a 54 motor but know starting to think it's a 53. numbers stamped into the block read " V3112I 45and i can't find that number listed anywhere. harmonic balancers on the 53 has a cast iron pulley as part of the balancer and the 54,55,and 56 do nont, mine has a stamped steel pulley that is sandwiched into the balancer and riveted all together.
can anyone help ID this block?

The last digit of the serial number indicates the car series.
V3112145
V = V8
311214 = sequential number, range for 1954 was 273,956 to 720,079
5 = Series 50 (Super), which came with the 322
