    what year is it??

    i know the block is a 322 (4 inch bore) but what year is it? i was lead to belive it was a 54 motor but know starting to think it's a 53. numbers stamped into the block read " V3112I 45and i can't find that number listed anywhere. harmonic balancers on the 53 has a cast iron pulley as part of the balancer and the 54,55,and 56 do nont, mine has a stamped steel pulley that is sandwiched into the balancer and riveted all together.
    can anyone help ID this block?

    According to this, it came from a '54 Special I,1, and space stamps can be confusing.

    The last digit of the serial number indicates the car series.

    V3112145

    V = V8
    311214 = sequential number, range for 1954 was 273,956 to 720,079
    5 = Series 50 (Super), which came with the 322
