    Fuel Pump

    Have a 1955 special with dual action fuel pump. It has two outlets one is for vacuum for wipers the other outlet has no hose on it anybody know what it is for.

    In the 60s and 70s there was a return line to the tank to prevent vapor lock for AC equipped cars. That is too far back for me to know for sure.

    I wonder if your confusing the inlet (wiper side) and outlet or pressure side of the vacuum pump.

    The ports should be marked inlet and outlet. Inlet connects to the wiper motor and outlet connects to the intake manifold. If the markings aren't readable, start the engine and put your finger over the ports one at a time. Inlet sucks and outlet blows.
