I have a squeak in or around the #1 cylinder any help on this 401

    take a look......

yep,,, take a look,,,, remove the spark plug,,,, is it normal looking,,,, does it have any rust residue on it????? and if you can get one of the bore scopes for a look inside the cyl... that would be good..... if a engine sits for a long time without being started the oil drains off... of all the cyls.... if one cyl is squeaking.... it has to have a cause.... water in the cyl... is the no 1 suspect....
and I might add that oil squirted in the cyl should make it stop squeaking.... if it dont.... there is something else making the noise.... take a look.....

    May be.....

could be a broken ring......cutting the cyl wall.....
