Hey there.My frostingplugs is rosty.Why.Put them in about 25 years ago
now it leaks from bottom off engine.Out of starter,new plug installed.
When i get home after cruise in Lindesberg i see it leaks in the top.
Shall i put new all around.How long does a frostplug last?
I know that i can find plugs in brass,
Why is my nailhed have rosty frostplugs?All the time i have glykol
in radiator,for winter keeping.I try to keep my lady in good shape.

engine completely.My wonder can i pull in water from my wifes
dry tumbler,ore my dehumudifier in basement.Is this water whit

Once you have the plugs in, you should do a flush on the cooling system while you have it drained. There is a product that you can use that will help break up the crud in all the cooling passage crevises, but at least run water through it until it becomes clear, then refill 50%-50% water to anti-freeze. Buy a good antifreeze such as Zerex or Prestone, Etc. Use a hydrometer that is used just for this purpose to check your boiling/freezing point levels, and adjust accordingly. The PH will change over time and this is why you should change this coolant mixture after a period of time. Each manufacturer has a recommended specified interval. I can't recall what our service manuals say for a nailhead, but you can also buy the PH test strips. I always use water out of the garden hose. I believe distilled water is overkill.
