    63 Riviera exhaust system

I need new pipes from the exhaust manifold all the way back with mufflers and tail tips. What is left of the rusty pipes on the Riv only go half way down the car. I can't figure out how the rest of the pipes would fit toward the rear. Do they go over the rear axle or under ? do the tail pipes go to the side of the fuel tank or under? anyone had this same problem? I would take it into a Midas shop but would not want to spend thousands on it. Also, what kind of mufflers do you recommend? Thanks in advance !

Stock exhaust is a wild thing, goes out under the frame, then back along the X, resonator, then it goes over the axle on the outside of the frame, turns inward to a cross flow muffler then 2 tubes out of the muffler to the back.
Waldron has a stock set up for sale -
TA performance has a 2.5" mandrel bent system (i have on mine) but the mufflers are under the front seat area- low ground clearance- but sounds great. this one skips the cross flow altogether.

    schematic diagrams

I scanned a couple of old exhaust catalogs I had lying about, these might give an idea what the stock system looked like albeit only an approximation and only in two dimensions. It's got some old part numbers on it, as well:

You might try looking at Rivs for sale on ebay, sometimes a low mileage car will have undercarriage pics that could be helpful.

Best of luck and hope this helps!
