Can you have an exhaust leak, Intake Manifold

I have a 322 Nailhead that sounds like it has an exhaust leak around the intake manifold. Is that possible? Some one said that they thought Buick routed exhaust up to the manifold for heating the carb. Thanks

Yes, there is a freeze plug on the underside that does rot out. They are a special size. Also there are a couple different sizes. They are NOT a regular plug since they are covering exhaust they are thicker. Remove yours or at least take a measurement & go to a NAPA store. If that doesn't work, if there is enough material left it can be brazed. If you try to actually weld it you may find because of the extra heat needed for welding the plug may fall out. Be careful with the amount of heat.
