    engine component problem

I have a 95 Buick Century 6 cylinder. There are two enclosed "humps" on either side of the engine that have a single bolt protruding from inside the enclosure. One of the bolts is out of place and has damaged my hood by nearly punching a whole straight through. I thought the "humps contained air bags, but this damaged one is on the passenger side where there is, to my knowledge, no air bag. Can anyone tell me what this thing is and how I can fix it?

??? This sounds like your upper engine struts but a photo would help . This can be replaced and you can but them at any auto parts store , they are bolted in place with bolts .HTH
