Unless you are modifying your engine, I would stay away from a 320 carb.
Here is our carb list:

I have been using this list for a reference:
http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Kbuick2.htm
However, it does not list any carb for a 1950 Buick with a 263 engine.
The number stamped on the top of my carburetor is 7-88A.
On the base of it there are some mostly unreadable letters followed by the number 267 (is that the base number?).
Anyway, I have two questions:
1) do I have the right carburetor? I suspect that if not it will work because it was what was on the car when I got it.
2) My second question is, there is a similar carburetor for sale on ebay that is for a roadmaster and century. Here is the link:

This looks like my carburetor but has a different number. Can I use this one any way (if it is good enough for the 320 it is good enough for a 263)?

Ok. I see that 7-88 is on the list but not the 7-88A. (the B and the C were listed). I am assuming that this does not matter.
Ok. I will not buy that other carb.
Which do people prefer, Carter or Stromberg. I think that I might have an appropriate Carter carb lying around somewhere as well.

By the way, I posted this question to the www.buickclub.org and yahoo buick groups as well. I seem to get good answers faster using this board? The www.buickclub.org group did point me to the carburetorshop carburetor list but it really has a lot of missing information and errors. The list that you pointed me to is much better.
Thanks. I will be having a lot more questions soon becaus I am going to try and start the car by the end of the month (or after it gets warm enough to try and paint the engine).

Your Super is also a 50 series, which is listed as the same carb as my Special (40 series). 19508248 40, 50 Carter WCD 725 813.
If you have a Carter I would stick with the Carter, or the same with the Stromberg.

my car has a stromberg. I happen to have a spare that is a carter. For now, I will stick with the stromberg.
