was wondering what is the biggest 15 inch weld wheel i can get under my rear wheel wells?you know backspace etc.i see some pics of some 68 and 69's with some big tires in the rear wells.
 
I just put a set of 7x15s by wheels vintique on my '67 GS. They had a 4 1/2" backspaceing and with a set of 235s with a 60 profile, they were a little tight and required a bit of fender modification. A 15x7 with a 4" backspaceing would have been a bolt on. Buick made them with the 4" back spaceing.

Of course this comment may not really apply to your '69
 
If you don't care so much about your trunk space you can always tub them out and get any size tire you want in there.
