Hello! I have always dreamed of driving a bright, 2 tone 50s car with tailfins and chrome, and now I do!

I recently brought home a 55 Buick Special. The original engine runs, my husband drove it 100 miles home for me. (Hope y'all don't mind a lady in your car group!)

I have *some* modern automotive knowledge, but I am in no way a mechanic and definitely not a classic mechanic - so here I am!

Welcome to the forum. Look around and you will find some helpful sections like the library for example where you can find workshop manuals for a multitude of vehicles. Other useful areas are in the forum are divided by topic you are searching for, could be brakes, steering, etc. If you post a question and get no answer don't be discouraged. The forum can fluctuate from busy to tumble weeds rolling by.

yeah, those 55-57 Buicks are an interesting take on the tri-5 Chevy models you usually see.

I had a '55 exactly the same.
White & Grey.
One of 13 I had.
Mine was stick from the factory.
Made LOTS of MODS to one especially, my so called HOT ROD.
