As far as I know, there is no such critter. I'm sure I don't know everything there is to know regarding engines, but I worked my way through high school in a machine shop; tearing down cores and inspecting them; doing inspections of all the parts, etc., and I had to keep a detailed account of all the blocks, heads, and miscellaneous parts. I can say for a fact I never once ran across one. Are you maybe thinking of a Ford ?Most people regard their 351s as a "big block" since they are not based on the 302 castings.....

Some people think of the Buick 350 as a big block, as although it is lighter than a 350 chev, it is physically larger. Also there are 2 possible big block Fords, the 352 FE engine and the 351M (modified Cleveland). Strictly speaking only the FE is a big block, as it is the same size as a 428.There was also a 350 Chrysler B block engine, the same size as a 383/400 series.

yeah, iirc, all of the pontiac v8s are the same size externally.

i've even heard it said that chevy is the only GM make that actually has a 'small block' v8, that buick, olds, and pontiac 350 and smaller v8s aren't really that much smaller externally than the big block versions. primary differences usually being a larger main bearing size and taller deck height so the intakes can't be interchanged to the small blocks because the heads are further apart.
