    this is a 215ci engine?

if yes, check out english v8 cars from the 80s and newer. British Leyland bought the 215ci from GM in the 60s and metricized it, turning into the Land Rover 3.5L there are common production variations up to 2004 in 4.6L and a few rare 5L engines in TVR models.

they all share the same bell housing and you have plenty of options for man, auto OR four wheel drive transfer casings.

not that i'm trying to give you any evil ideas, mind you.

The 62-63 bellhousings (but not 61) have two sets of bolt holes and will accept any GM pattern 3. 4, or 5 speed. My personal preference for this engine is a T-5.

If you want an automatic, I wouldn't recommend either of the factory offerings (Dual Path or Roto-Hydramatic) to anyone I liked. Bendtsens sells a $725 adaptor to use any Chevy pattern automatic. For that kind of money, I would look at the Land Rover or other british units first. I believe some of those were made by Borg-Warner and have a pretty good service record.

    Thumbs up

Not sure if you have the same bell housing pattern as 340, but I swapped a 200r4 in my 67 Special wagon. Absolutely love it.

The 61-63 engines have a bellhousing bolt pattern not shared with anything else except the Land Rover engines.

D&D fabrications makes adapters for Chevy and BOP pattern automatics and also makes a repro manual bellhousing. The link to the adapter page on their site doesn't work, so use this one instead.

You will have to phone for pricing info, as there are no prices on the adapter page. 810-798-2491 8 am to 5 pm Mon-Fri Eastern Time
