    Early 1968 skylark?

Hello everyone, looking for info as to wether or not this is a real set up. The skylark has bucket seats with center console, it is a two speed console. The real question is I wonder if this is a very early model 1968 skylark. The console looks correct. I believe that the 300 wildcat was discontinued in 1967. Well let me know what you guys think. I believe the bucket seats are correct? So specs are 1968 skylark with 300 wildcat motor and 300 super turbine trans, bucket seats with console, convertible.IMAG0208.jpg100MEDIA95IMAG0210.jpg100MEDIA95IMAG0202.jpgIMAG0201.jpg

true. very early 68s may have had a 300 as they depleted stock but it wouldn't have been part of the normal run. every small block application in 68 should have been a 350ci. how many bolts in each valve cover? that's the fastest way to verify the difference between 350 and 340/300.

i take it you have very low body and VIN nuimbers?

what does the air cleaner say? back then, Buick typically labelled the air cleaner with the torque rating, not the displacement.

if you want to know about the interior you'll either need to get us the body tag info or find an option sheet.

How about that center console, I have never seen one with just a low and drive (2 spd).100MEDIA95IMAG0210.jpg Seems to kind of add to the rarity of the potential vehicle. I don't have vin or data plate info yet.

Hi , The '68 skylark used the Super Turbine 300 (2 speed). Only the GS 400 and Sportwagon 400 used the Super Turbine 400 (3 speed). I've heard people refer to the ST300 as a Powerglide. Well, it wasn't. The only thing it had in common with a Powerglide was the fact that it had two forward gears. The ST300 was in reality a two speed version of a ST400. It seems to me that there was no variable pitch converter in the '68's. 1967 being the last year for them.

The interior looks like 67 door panels, seats and steering wheel and 68 console. It looks to me like someone used a 67 parts car to get a 68 back on the road with a partial interior swap and replaced the 350 with the 300 from the 67 as well.

Your door panels are definitely 1968 Skylark Custom.
I can't positively ID the pattern on your buckets but they are not 1967. Steering wheel is 67 or extremely similar. With the photo posted I can't identify the engine, just the air cleaner, which is correct for the 300 2bbl engine.
